The national weather service has issued a winter travel advisory for Ottawa on Sunday as the rain is forecast to turn to snow thanks to colder air moving into the region.
Environment Canada says that between 5 and 10 cm of heavy snowfall will hit the area and will continue throughout the day before slowly tapering off Sunday night.
“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather,” says Environment Canada. “Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.”
