The Giants have found a new kicker.
With Graham Gano likely to miss “a few weeks” due to a hamstring injury, per head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants have signed veteran Greg Joseph off of Detroit’s practice squad.
Joseph competed for the Green Bay Packers’ job during training camp, but he was ultimately released before signing with the Lions last week.
The 30-year-old has played for Cleveland, Tennessee, and Minnesota, and is most known for his three seasons with the Vikings. Joseph has a career 82.6 field goal percentage, and has 28 career field goals of 50+ yards, including a 61-yarder in 2022.
The Giants worked out four free agent kickers on Monday – Randy Bullock, Zane Gonzalez, Riley Patterson, and Tanner Brown – and Daboll previously said that practice squad kicker Jude McAtamney was an option to get the starting job.
Instead, the Giants signed a proven veteran off the Lions practice squad.
