Gwalia United cruised to a 4-1 win against Swindon Town at Spytty Park, Newport to reach the second round of the Women’s FA Cup.

The hosts took the lead seven minutes into the first half when former Watford forward Ellie Sargent struck.

Swindon’s Tori St Clair equalised just four minutes later, slotting the ball calmly past Wales international Laura O’Sullivan-Jones.

However, Fern Burrage-Male’s side responded quickly with two goals in three minutes.

Ruby Scahill was brought down and captain Cori Williams-Mills made no mistake with the penalty. Two minutes later, Casi Gregson celebrated her 17th birthday as she converted a cross.

Gregson doubled her tally on the hour mark to complete the scoring, smashing home a Ruby Scahill pass.

Gwalia, who play in the third tier of the English system, controlled possession for the rest of the game against fourth-tier Swindon, who play in the National League Division One South West, to ensure victory.
