Let’s talk about Aaron Rodgers, cause I, I, this was fascinating to me.
Look, he has been one of the greatest players I’ve ever seen play, like, An absolute magician out there at times, his 2011 season might be the best I’ve ever seen a quarterback play over an extended period, just absolutely unbelievable.
And today was a throwback to that.
He just looked, he looked like he was having fun.
He was making plays, 3 to 4 touchdowns.
And I had the question Fitz, does a game like this make it more or less likely he comes back?
Because on one hand, you could say Aaron Rodgers played like that today, and he probably in his mind, It was like, yeah, I still got it.
I, I’m finally feeling good.
I’m feeling healthy.
I, I could come back and play for another year.
Why not?
But I also wonder if Aaron Rodgers is like, it’s a pretty good way to wrap up my career.
If this is it, I’m pretty happy stepping away on a 4 touchdown game where I was having so much fun with Devante Adams, and we did get a win uh to end this miserable Jet season.
I, I don’t know.
What do you think?
If you’re Aaron Rodgers, you just beat the Dolphins.
You have one of those games where you were flying around, you were throwing the football like you used to do on the move.
The hard part is that the Jets have to make a decision too.
Do they even want to deal with him?
And if they don’t, then does he want to deal with somewhere else completely?
Like, it’s such a wild card.
I, I think it would make everybody’s life easier if Aaron Rodgers was just like, yeah, I don’t want to do this anymore, because then nobody’s tempted to figure it out.
Where it gets really difficult is that the quarterback market.
It is so bad and so many teams need one.
If he decides he’s come back, he’s going to get money to start somewhere next year.
There’s no doubt about it, 100%.
Like whoever the week one quarterbacks in 2025, I can guarantee you if Aaron Rodgers is retired, I can guarantee you there’s gonna be a few guys who aren’t as good as Aaron Rodgers even at 42 years old or whatever he’s got to turn in December.
He will have a chance if he says, I want to keep playing.
And the Jets say, well, we don’t want you to play here anymore.
I guarantee you Aaron Rodgers will have, it might not be ideal, it might be.
The Tennessee Titans and he’s a bridge quarterback or something like that, it’s not going to be a ready-made Super Bowl contender maybe.
But yes, Aaron Rodgers will definitely have some opportunities, and I think his late season play is a big reason.
Yeah, he didn’t look good against the Bills two weeks ago.
But mostly over the last month of the season, he’s looked pretty darn good and had a really good game to finish it up and we all recently see biased.
That’s the last thing we see out of Aaron.
I think a lot of teams who are in desperate need of a quarterback are gonna say, Yeah, I, I think we can get one year out of him, and I think Aaron’s gonna say I can, I can get one year out of myself too.
