Tuesday’s blockbuster clash of the night sees PSG travel to Bayern, and perhaps manager Luis Enrique was the architect of an imminent downfall.
After a tense first half that led to limited genuine chances, the opener arrived thanks to an error from goalkeeper Matvei Safonov.
Usual starter Gianluigi Donnarumma, meanwhile, could only watch from the bench after being dropped.
The 25-year-old Russian (who has only made five appearances this season) failed to connect his punch with the ball. It then dropped for defender Kim Min-kae, who made no mistake from point-blank range.
When asked about the selection choice before kick-off, Enrique said: “I make my choices based on what I see on the pitch and what is best for the team.”
But has the decision returned to bite him in their biggest game yet?
