Yeah, my second stat is revolving around Devon a Chan and it’s kind of a couple of stats in one here.
I wanna start with wide receiver usage.
He was in the slot.
We always hear this run running backs can be used as wide receivers.
We saw it in the preseason too, uh at uh, Chan and then you get him playing in the slot 10 times out wide four times.
He catches all three of his slot targets for 48 yards breaks, four tackles on those as well.
We know that he’s a player who can do that.
So that’s encouraging one.
Now, how much will it hold up when you get maybe an Odell a Malik Washington back?
We’ll see, but he was somebody that was prior game planned in at least for week one, the inside the five carry.
We’ll see what we make of it.
He gets the one opportunity in this game.
He only had five, all of last year and he converts.
But the most important thing for me, at least here, a 55% opportunity share.
He was at about 40% last year and he was a top five fantasy point per game running back now it’s gonna go to 55%.
We were just hoping for it to stay at like 40 maybe it goes up 45%.
That’s fine.
We’ll take you as a second round pick.
So 55% opportunity share, uh for a chan here in, in my opinion, is the biggest takeaway for him and something that’s highly encouraging.
Yeah.
Uh both a a and Moster were sidelined on Monday’s practice.
So like, you know, not the biggest deal in the world but obviously a situation to monitor their.
It’s third of the team in routes, Devo Aan in week one is a pretty significant development for two reasons, you know, one, we typically, we think, oh, that’s coach speak off-season stuff, running routes for running backs or lining up at different places.
Not so much for uh hm, that was a serious thing.
And I think Sal this is the key for him accessing his true upside this year because he’s probably never gonna be, you know, Sayn Barkley Bijon Robinson, Breece Hall type of running back, you know what your workhorse.
But if you can be a receiving weapon for this Dolphins offense, which lacks a third punch in that receiver room, maybe it’s Odell, doubt it, maybe it’s Malik Washington.
But for now, I think it’s a, a pretty significant development.
So rest of the season running back rankings, how high do you think you can have Devon Aan at this point.
Yeah, I, I think that based on what we saw in week one, the usage that he got that opportunity, share, I think pushing him right around.
Like running back six range is probably where I feel comfortable.
