Canadian golf fans will soon be able to catch all the action of the new TGL presented by SoFi, as Rogers Sportsnet announced a partnership to broadcast every match of the upcoming league.

The TGL (Tomorrow’s Golf League), a high-tech team golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, kicks off on January 7, 2024. Matches will air live on Sportsnet and also stream on Sportsnet+.

The league will feature six teams of top PGA Tour players competing in two-hour matches every Monday and Tuesday through March. Taking place at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the venue is designed to merge virtual and real-life play.

Each team will play on a course made up of 15 virtual and custom-designed holes (out of 30 total holes), and the action will shift to real grass and sand as players approach the green. With features like a massive 64×53-foot screen (it’s about 24x larger than a regular golf sim screen) and advanced tech that reshapes the green for every hole.

Fans can expect familiar names like Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, and Rickie Fowler as part of the star-studded line-up. Each match will have a shot clock, and every player will be mic’d, offering an up-close look at the action. This is basically a golf competition indoors during the winter months.

There are six TGL teams, with four PGA Tour players on each team, but only three will compete in each match.

  • Atlanta Drive GC: Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Lucas Glover
  • Boston Common Golf: Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Hideki Matsuyama
  • Jupiter Links Golf Club: Tiger Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner
  • Los Angeles Golf Club: Tommy Fleetwood, Sahith Theegala, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Rose
  • New York Golf Club: Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Cameron Young.
  • The Bay Golf Club: Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Åberg, Min Woo Lee, and Shane Lowry

So once January rolls around, the only way to watch TGL in Canada is through Sportsnet or Sportsnet+, available on cable TV and all your devices and the web. It looks like a fun way to catch the world’s best golfers in a new simulator and live environment, a league that has teams backed by the biggest names in sports.
