Plenty of talented footballers make weekly headlines, but perhaps one of the best creators in Europe is flying under the radar in Italy.
Atalanta’s 23-year-old attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere is having quite the year over in Serie A.
The Belgian international was back pulling the strings for his side against Milan (his former club) and opened the scoring after 10 minutes.
De Ketelaere leapt highest over Theo Hernandez and headed home the opener before celebrating.
The goal means the starlet has 15+ goals and 15+ assists in 2024, something only two other players have achieved in Europe’s top leagues: Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer.
15 & 16 – Charles De Ketelaere is only one of the three players to have scored 15+ goals and provided 15+ assists (15G+16A) in 2024 in the five major European leagues in all competitions, alongside with Mohamed Salah (24G+18A) and Cole Palmer (26G+15A). Funny enough, De Ketelaere never scored for Milan in 40 games with the Italian giants. But after being given time to grow into his own at Atalanta, he’s lighting up Europe.
Just two games ago, he recorded three assists and two goals in a single Champions League match.
