The Jacksonville Jaguars are moving on from head coach Doug Peterson, and yet again, Trevor Lawrence is going to have to learn a new system with a new coach and try to find stability.
Let’s be clear, Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be a once in a lifetime prospect that it was worth losing every game if you had to get to him just to have your franchise future quarterback.
And the Jags have already told you that even though he hasn’t necessarily lived up to some of that hype, they believe he is the answer given the fact that they gave him a mega.
Contract.
Now the Jags have to find stability around their quarterback.
This is why I constantly say that a top overall pick is more likely to be ruined by his franchise than he is to ruin the franchise that he’s playing for.
So now the Jags need to find somebody that could be a quarterback whisperer.
They need to bring somebody in to an organization that is somewhere between bad and irrelevant annually and try and find someone that can recharge their quarterback, their fan base, and the entire NFL to make them care about a franchise.
That more often than not seems to be forgotten.
Sean Khan, the owner of the Jags, has made it clear that it looks like they’re going to remain in place with their GM, which means the same person making many of these personnel decisions will be picking the coach.
If that’s a good idea, bad idea, we won’t know until we see if this coach can actually be a home run.
But now for the 3rd time in Trevor Lawrence’s career, the Jags are admitting that they made a mistake in who they hired to run his organization, and all of a sudden they’re back to the drawing board.
