Jersey Bulls coach Adam Lester hailed his team’s second-half performance in their 2-0 win over Corinthian Casuals in Combined Counties Premier South.

Rai Dos Santos put the island side ahead in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time after a stuttering opening period.

Karl Hinds wrapped up the win when he opportunistically pounced on a goalkeeping error to seal the game after 62 minutes.

The victory sees the Bulls extend their unbeaten run since the start of the season to 11 games as they kept a fifth successive clean sheet.

“First 15 minutes they were putting us under a bit of pressure and were a little bit sloppy in that first half,” Lester told BBC Radio Jersey.

“But second half we were brilliant, we soaked up quite a bit of pressure, but managed to get a couple of goals and managed to get the win.

“Judging by what other teams have done around us today it seemed like it was even sweeter.”

The victory keeps Bulls in fourth place with 27 points from 11 games.

Leaders Redhill, lost for the first time this season, going down 4-1 at fifth-placed Cobham who welcome the island side on Tuesday night

Bulls are eight points off Redhill with three games in hand while second-placed Whyteleafe and third-placed Knaphill are four points above the islanders having played three and four more games respectively.
