Jersey Bulls kept up the pace at the top end of Combined Counties Premier South with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sheerwater at Springfield.
Joe Kilshaw struck for the islanders midway through the first half as they went on to record a 12th clean sheet in 13 matches.
Kilshaw got on the end of a flowing move after good work by Karl Hinds and Toby Ritzema in the build up.
The victory keeps Bulls third in the division, four points off second-placed Whyteleafe and seven off leaders Redhill who have both played three more games than the islanders.
“I thought we looked a little bit leggy, but the most important thing is that we found a way,” Bulls manager Elliott Powell told BBC Radio Jersey.
“Credit to Joe Kilshaw who was a willing runner to get on the end of a good team move, so delighted with that.
“I think he’s a changed player,” added Powell about Kilshaw – who was making his 100th appearance for the club.
“I think he is getting into the opposition half an awful lot more, he’s affecting games in both directions as lot more.
“He’s got relentless energy – both for the goal and defensively after that I thought we saw that today and we have done all season.
“I’m delighted for him, he’s a great lad and 100 appearances is a great achievement for a young lad of his age.”
