It’s a curious thing, how life can take us down unexpected paths. For Corey Conners, the journey to becoming a PGA Tour mainstay was far from straightforward. As a young lad, he had his heart set on a career in medicine, with aspirations of becoming a pharmacist, an optometrist, or even a doctor. But, as the old saying goes, “man proposes, but god disposes,” and Conners’ passion for golf eventually won out.

Fast forward to the present, and Conners has achieved a remarkable level of success, with a couple of wins and Presidents Cup selections under his belt. But what’s truly impressive is the man behind the golfer. Conners is a math whiz, having studied actuarial math at Kent State University, where he was a two-time Academic All-American. “Hopefully I’ll never have to fall back on that degree, but it’s some fascinating stuff that I really enjoy as well”, he had told the PGA Tour.

Corey Conners’ rise to golfing stardom can be traced back to his humble beginnings in Listowel, Ontario, Canada. His parents, Mike and Janet Conners are the people we have to thank when it comes to shaping and supporting their son’s golfing career. As avid golfers themselves, they instilled in Conners a passion for the game from a young age. His father, in particular, played a very important role in teaching Conners the finer points of golf and emphasizing the importance of good golf swing tempo over technical details. “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” as the old saying goes, and it’s clear that Conners’s parents laid the foundation for his future success.

However, Conners’s support system doesn’t stop at his parents. His wife, Malory Conners, has been his rock from day one and has provided unwavering support throughout his career. The couple tied the knot in October 2018, and Malory’s been by Conners’s side ever since. Who could forget her emotional reaction when Conners won the 2019 Valero Texas Open? Well, certainly not her husband. “She’s been my biggest fan for years and my biggest supporter. I’m really lucky to have her by my side. It’s pretty cool to see her in the spotlight a little bit. Her reactions were awesome”, he had said.  As he continues to soar to new heights in the golfing world, there’s no doubt that Malory will be cheering him on every step of the way. At the 2025 Sentry, Correy Connors along with his caddie have made it to the top of the leaderboard at T3. 2025 sure seems to be a great start for him.
