SALINA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men’s tennis team’s season ended with a 4-0 loss to (18) McPherson College in the KCAC Tournament Finals on Saturday afternoon at the Genesis Health Club.
Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russell were defeated 6-3 in no. 2 doubles and the Bulldogs led 1-0 in the doubles point. Ottawa tied the doubles point with Jarmo Perez Wienese and Jhoel Quinonez’s 7-5 win in no. 1 doubles. In the deciding match, Santiago Tartaglia and Bernardo Figueiredo fell 7-6 in no. 3 doubles and MC took a 1-0 lead.
Perez Wienese fell 6-3, 6-2 in no. 1 singles. Giorgio lost his no. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-2. Quinonez fell in a three set match 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in no. 2 singles and McPherson took the 4-0 victory.
Ottawa finishes the season with an overall record of 14-8.
