Men’s Tennis Moves Past Evangel in KCAC Tournament, 4-0 – Ottawa University

SALINA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men’s tennis team is moving in the KCAC Tournament with a 4-0 win over Evangel University at Genesis Health Club on Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals.

Ottawa took a 1-0 lead in the doubles point with Oscar Giogio and Ben Russell’s 6-3 win in no. 2 doubles. Santiago Tartaglia and Luis Figueiredo took a 6-0 victory in no. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point for the Braves.

Jhoel Quinonez’s 6-1, 6-0 victory in no. 2 singles gave OU a 2-0 lead. Tartaglia won his no. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-0, and OU led 3-0. The Braves secured the match with Giorgio’s 6-2, 6-2 win in no. 4 singles.

Ottawa (13-7) will play Bethel College in the KCAC Tournament Semifinals on Friday, April 26 at Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg, Kan. The match will start at 2:00 p.m.
