Montreal police say they’re investigating a hit-and-run that has left a 33-year-old man in critical condition at the hospital.
Around 5:40 a.m., police received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle collision on Maurice-Duplessis and Louis-H.-La Fontaine boulevards, said a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, Mariane Allaire Morin.
Allaire Morin says a suspicious vehicle was travelling westbound on Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard when it collided with the second vehicle driving along the north access lane of Highway 25.
“The occupant of the possibly stolen vehicle fled on foot while a seriously injured victim was in the second vehicle,” she said.
Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to extract the victim, a 33-year-old man, from inside his car. Allaire Morin says he was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The crime scene is currently protected and investigators will analyze it.
