Multiple small systems will impact British Columbia’s South Coast through the weekend, though the pattern overall will be less stormy than what we saw during the second half of December.
A system will track into B.C. on Friday, bringing rain for the coast and snow to the Interior.
The rain starts for southern Vancouver Island Friday morning, spreading into Vancouver and Abbotsford by the lunch hour.
A widespread 20-30 mm of rain is likely through Friday night, with locally heavier amountslikely for parts of Vancouver Island.
With temperatures remaining below freezing in the Interior, snow is expected to fall down to valley bottom. The snow will start around noon, and continues for several hours, before leaving about 5-10 cm by Friday night.

Snow will impact travel through the mountain passes, as well.
Winds pick up through the day on Friday, but will be even gustier on Saturday.
Another system will bring more rain to the coast and more snow Saturday overnight for the Interior.
A very active and wet pattern will return to the central and north coast region for next week. Above seasonal temperatures are also expected to dominate across the province through mid January.
