If the Dallas Cowboys could play every game on the road, they might be OK this season. But for the second time this year, a visitor has come into Dallas, stomped the Cowboys and put 40+ points on the board. The Detroit Lions forced five turnovers and came away with a 47-9 win in Dallas. Brian Branch had two interceptions, and Jared Goff threw for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns in Detroit’s second-highest scoring road game in team history. With the exception of the second half against Baltimore — a game Dallas lost 28-25, and allowed nearly 300 rushing yards to Derrick Henry and Co. — the Cowboys have looked maybe like the worst team in the NFL when they’ve played at AT&T Stadium this season.
Elswehere in the NFL in Week 6, the Falcons rushed for nearly 200 yards in a 38-20 win at Carolina. The Los Angeles Chargers ran up a 23-0 lead on the Denver Broncos, and held on for a 23-16 win. Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh left the sidelines with an apparent illness, but returned later in the first quarter and finished the game. And in Las Vegas, the Steelers’ defense turned in another dominant performance, forcing three Raiders turnovers in a 32-12 win. Justin Fields completed 14-of-24 passes for 145 yards and didn’t turn the ball over. He added two touchdowns on the ground.
