Ottawa is putting up $101 million to repair and reconstruct wharves and other infrastructure in 26 harbours across the province.
The minister responsible for rural economic development, Gudie Hutchings, made the announcement in Lark Harbour yesterday.
She says work will be carried out over the course of three years, and includes repairs for structures damaged during Hurricane Fiona in September of 2022.
An additional $13.2 million has been put forward to upgrade the dock used at the Coast Guard’s Search and Rescue Station in Lark Harbour, which will allow for the use of larger lifeboats and increased storage for fuel.
