“We’ll have around 90 kids at our camp and we’ll have the senior men coming and participating in the camp, and playing with the kids, so it should be a really exciting opportunity for the athletes that are coming to the camp.”

The camp will be held at Merlis Belsher Place and will feature a grades 5-8 session and 9-11 session.

Proceeds from the camp will go to the Living Skies Indigenous Basketball League, which Crozon, a Humboldt native, runs.

“I work a lot in basketball, obviously, as an athlete and as an administrator, but where I love to be the most is actually just on the court with the kids. I try to do a couple of camps a year, so I was really excited to come back and do camps in Saskatchewan because it’s where I was raised and given the opportunities to succeed in basketball,” Crozon added.

“Just excited to come back and be in Saskatchewan and work with the local community and have a lot of amazing coaches out who actually coached me or have been a part of my basketball journey. It should be a really good and exciting basketball weekend for all in Saskatchewan.”

Another noteworthy thing for Crozon is that she has been named as one of three finalists for the Bruce Kidd Leadership Award.

The award is given at the annual Canadian Sport Awards to recognize individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the Canadian sports sector.

The winner will be announced on December 2nd.

“It’s presented to a national team athlete or a former national team athlete that is a sports leader that has provided meaningful contributions for the betterment of sport, as an advocate or change agent or builder,” Crozon told northeastNOW.

“I’m so honoured and so proud to be part of the top three, and no matter what happens, I just feel such a privilege to be able to do what I do, and just to be in the top three is a huge honour for me.”
