Partners Group opens infrastructure fund access to Canadian investors

Must read

Partners Group announced a new partnership with the iCapital platform to provide Canadian accredited investors access to its Next Generation Infrastructure fund.

The new offering, Partners Group NXGN Infrastructure Canada (Access Fund), will be managed by iCapital Network Canada and requires a minimum investment of C$25,000 ($17,900). The fund marks an expansion of Partners Group’s evergreen fund strategy, which has grown from $7 billion in 2014 to $45 billion today. Individual investors will invest in parallel with institutional investors, accessing the same investment opportunities through the firm’s pro rata allocation policy.

The move comes a week after J.P. Morgan Asset Management partnered with iCapital Network Canada to open access to the J.P. Morgan Private Markets Strategy for Canadian investors.

Switzerland-based Partners Group which maintains its primary Americas presence in Colorado, brings over 15 years of infrastructure investing experience to the new fund. The firm currently manages more than $26 billion in global infrastructure assets, part of its broader $149 billion portfolio spanning private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and royalties.

This latest offering continues Partners Group’s track record of innovation in making private markets accessible to individual investors. The firm pioneered private markets focused evergreen funds in 2001 and launched the first U.S. private equity evergreen fund under the 1940 Act in 2009, which has since grown to approximately $16 billion in net asset value. Partner Group also recently announced a strategic partnership with BlackRock to launch a multi-private markets models solution.

The company employs around 1,800 professionals globally and manages 30% of its total assets under management through evergreen programs as of June 30.
