Porto boss Vitor Bruno is wary of the threat Manchester United pose despite Erik ten Hag’s side arriving in Portugal with a “rope around their necks”.

United are looking to return to winning ways in the Europa League after last Sunday’s woeful 3-0 home defeat by Tottenham in the Premier League.

But Bruno said his players will not be underestimating their opponents.

“I’ve heard a lot of people saying that they have a rope around their necks,” said Bruno when asked by United’s form.

“But, no, no, we are just looking at our objective and that is to reach the next stage.

“We always see them as a threat, not as a good point to take them on.

“We have to just be ourselves and look at them the way the way we have to look at them, with respect, a lot of respect, with a lot of individuals.

“I know what you mean talking about their last match, but we must see the whole not the last one.”

Man Utd midfielder Mason Mount has not travelled after suffering a knock against Tottenham but defender Harry Maguire, who did not feature at the weekend, could feature.

Midfielder Fabio Vieira, who joined Porto on a season-long loan from Arsenal in August, is in contention to play.
