Erling Haaland has regained the outright lead in the Premier League Golden Boot standings after scoring in Manchester City’s 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Haaland has 21 goals, one more than Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and is 2/5 favourite to retain the prize he won last season, with his former City team-mate next in the betting at 4/1.

Haaland peaking the right time
Erling Haaland has some real competition in the race for the Golden Boot but he has shortened to 2/5 favourite in the betting.
The Norwegian took his league tally to 21 goals by scoring Manchester City’s second in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. He has now netted in each of his last three top-flight appearances.
Cole Palmer is just behind him on 20 goals but has drifted out to 4/1 to collect the Golden Boot for the first time after failing to score in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.
Ollie Watkins also failed to add to his tally of 19 in that game and as a result, has drifted to 10/1 for the Golden Boot with Alexander Isak leapfrogging him at 9/1.
The Newcastle United forward found the net twice in a 5-1 win over Sheffield United to make it nine in his previous eight top-flight appearances and 19 for the campaign.
Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth completes the front-runners for the Golden Boot betting at 25/1 and he has 18 goals to his name.
