Prince Harry Takes Solo Trip to Vancouver

Must read

Prince Harry is back in Canada!

The Duke of Sussex traveled solo to Vancouver to promote the Invictus Games, the international adaptive sport competition for wounded servicemen and women that he founded a decade ago. As founding patron, he has been the event’s biggest supporter, a passion broadcast wide in a 2023 docuseries about the games, Heart of Invictus, which aired on Netflix. (Watch a trailer above.)

Last night, the Duke of Sussex attended the Grey Cup, the Canadian Football League championship game held at BC Place. The 2025 Invictus Games will take place there in just under three months, in February 2025. “This time in less than three months we’ll be back for the opening ceremony in February, so that’s what we’re really excited about,” he shared during an interview on TSN.

Before the match, Prince Harry presented Amar Doman, the owner of the BC Lions, with an Invictus Games jersey. Doman, in turn, gave a jersey to Wenshuang Nie, an Invictus Games competitor.

In February of this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveled to British Columbia to promote one year to go until the 2025 games. “The best way I can describe what the impact is of their involvement is: You feel like you’re seen and heard. You’re not lost in the woods, you’re not insignificant,” an Invictus Games ambassador told T&C at the time.

The 2025 Invictus Games begin on February 8, 2025. Musicians Noah Kahan and Nelly Furtado are set to perform at the opening ceremonies at BC Place.
