Real Madrid identify two positions to strengthen in upcoming transfer windows

Real Madrid are very strategic with their signings and do not splash the cash unless a player is absolutely necessary or squad-elevating.

Kylian Mbappe and Endrick were the team’s two gala signings last summer and both players have elevated the quality of the dressing room significantly.

Now, the club have identified the next two positions to be strengthened as revealed in a recent update by Fabrizio Romano.

The two positions of interest

As revealed by the reliable journalist, Real Madrid have identified the centre-back and right-back positions to be their primary points of interest as it stands and are scouting the market for potential targets.

It is unclear if the club will push for the arrivals in January or next summer, but they are the two positions that will be strengthened urgently.

All signs point to the arrivals in June but the winter transfer market cannot be ruled out as well.

Los Blancos have, after all, struggled for options at centre-back after Leny Yoro snubbed them last summer and are currently with only Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger as the available fit defenders.

Jonathan Tah, on that front, is one player that interests the club especially given that his contract in Germany runs out next summer.

Furthermore, at right-back, the Merengues have Trent Alexander-Arnold as their primary target. The club sees the Englishman to be a valuable addition to replace Dani Carvajal in the long run.

His contract also runs out in June, presenting Los Blancos with the chance to snap him up on a free transfer which even the player is not opposed to. If their plan to sign Trent falls apart, Tottenham’s Pedro Porro stands as their plan B.
