Paris Saint-Germain expressed strong interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this past summer, but a transfer didn’t happen.
Napoli held firm, unwilling to let him go. In the 2023-24 season, Kvaratskhelia played a vital role in Napoli’s Serie A title victory, making 45 appearances and contributing 11 goals and nine assists.
Despite his significant impact, Kvaratskhelia hasn’t yet received a new contract. His current deal runs through 2027, and while Napoli are keen to extend it, negotiations have hit a snag over salary differences.
His representatives are asking for €8 million per season, while Napoli are offering €6 million plus bonuses. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Kvaratskhelia is also seeking a €80 million release clause in the contract, but Napoli is reportedly hesitant about that.
The club has valued the Georgian international at around €100 million for any potential transfer.
Manchester United the latest name in the Khvicha Kvaratskhelia race
CaughtOffside reported on Saturday, citing sources, that Manchester United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, is already looking at a “special talent” who could “light up Old Trafford.”
Despite Napoli setting a £90 million price tag for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Amorim is eager to bring the Georgian star to replace Antony, who has struggled at the club.
The report also mentions that while the 23-year-old is in discussions with Napoli about extending his contract, those talks have hit a standstill.
