Salford City captain Curtis Tilt has been suspended for an extra two matches and fined £2,400 after admitting he acted in an improper manner following his red card at Chesterfield on 24 August.
The centre-back’s 71st-minute dismissal was the result of two yellow cards in quick succession in the 1-1 draw in League Two.
Tilt was booked for dissent before being cautioned again for an off-the-ball clash with Spireites striker Will Grigg.
The 33-year-old was initially banned for Salford’s 1-0 home win over MK Dons on Monday.
Tilt will now be unavailable for the visits of Cheltenham Town on 14 September and Walsall seven days later.
Tilt joined Salford in July 2023 and made 51 appearances in his debut season. He had been ever-present in their new league campaign before the incident, helping Salford to a first clean sheet with a 0-0 draw at Bradford City a week earlier.
Karl Robinson’s side collected their first win with their victory over the Dons and visit League One club Wrexham in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.
