The Knicks opened their preseason slate on Sunday evening and it didn’t take long for newly acquired big man Karl-Anthony Towns to make his presence felt.
While it is just a tuneup matchup head coach Tom Thibodeau decided to run out his expected new-look starting five consisting of Towns, Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges to open this one.
It was Bridges who opened the scoring for New York with a reverse layup close to the basket, but a few possessions later, Towns showcased his range by knocking down a deep jumper from beyond the arc.
The big man added another basket to finish his unofficial first quarter as a Knick with five points, three rebounds, and a steal.
