Sheffield United and Wrexham have been fined by the FA for failing to control their players during the end of their Carabao Cup tie last month.

In a statement, the FA said the Blades had been fined £8,500 while Wrexham were charged £2,500 for the incident which has since been accepted by both clubs following the tie.

The FA cited Sheffield United’s higher fine to be down to the number of Blades players involved in the confrontation along with the number of separate incidents the club have been involved in.

The confrontation, which saw Blades midfielder Sydie Peck and Wrexham forward Jack Marriott booked, was the ninth involving Sheffield United in the past two and a half years according to the FA.
