Southern Ontario’s bright weekend will be ending on a gloomy note

So far this month, much of southern Ontario’s forecast has been dominated by snow and snow squalls. Where there hasn’t been snow, there has been rain.

Fortunately, the forecast has turned around this weekend, just in time for any last-minute holiday planning and decorating.

After a beautiful, sunny start to the weekend in southern Ontario, however, the forecast will take another gloomy turn on Sunday to end it.

Rainy Sunday sets the tone for Monday

A weak stateside system will move into the province throughout Sunday, bringing rain and a chance for mixed, icy precipitation.

Folks in southwestern Ontario’s far corners, such as Windsor, will be the first to see rain showers on Sunday morning.

The London area will be next on the list to see showers, but not until the afternoon hours.

We could see some mixed precipitation falling as temperatures fluctuate throughout the day, which could make surfaces and roadways a little extra slippery.

Mild temperatures reminiscent of November will then be dragged into the province behind a warm front following the rain.

While the mild temperatures take over on Monday, so too will the chances for rain as a cold front quickly moves in and across the province throughout the afternoon hours.
