Stouffer earns honorary membership at Mount Brenton Golf Club

Must read

Shelly Stouffer has been named an honorary member at Mount Brenton Golf Club.

The decision was made by the club’s board of directors, inspired by the criteria set by The New Golf Club at St. Andrews in Chicago, which reserves honorary memberships for “distinguished strangers”. This membership is the first of its kind for the Chemainus club.

Stouffer is a four-time Mount Brenton Women’s Amateur champion, currently ranked 796th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and third among Canadian Senior Women. She also won Canada’s 2024 Mid-Amateur Championship for women aged 25 and above and has qualified to compete in the 2025 U.S. LPGA Senior Championship.

“I am happy to be given an honorary membership at Mt. Brenton GC,” said Stouffer. “It is a fun course and I look forward to playing there more often. Whenever I have played there, it has always been in great shape. I thank the board of directors for the honorary membership and look forward to meeting more members.”

Stouffer, who lives in Nanoose Bay and competes in tournaments across Canada and the U.S., currently plays out of Morningstar Golf Course in Parksville. Next year, she plans to compete in senior amateur events in Ireland, England and other international tournaments.

The board and Stouffer are planning opportunities for members to meet and golf with her, further strengthening ties between the champion golfer and the club.
