The end of summer will finally deliver what the rest of the season could not provide — an extended stretch of warm and dry weather! That should include one of the best weekends of the year across much of southern Ontario.
While this past weekend felt more like October, the upcoming weekend will feel like mid-summer, and feature abundant sunshine and dry weather.

There is only one potential complication in our weekend forecast. We will be closely watching the remnants of Francine, which is expected to make landfall as a hurricane along the coast of Louisiana late Wednesday. The remnants of Francine are expected to stay well south of our region, but we will see some clouds mixing with the sunshine along with a low risk for a shower late in the weekend.
We will kick off the final full weekend of summer with sunshine and very warm temperatures on Friday however, with highs in the upper 20s and a few spots could approach 30°C.
Friday night will be clear and mild.
Saturday will be mostly sunny and very warm, but temperatures will be a few degrees cooler near Lake Ontario.
Saturday night will be partly cloudy and very mild. Overnight temperatures will be warmer than our daytime temperatures were this past weekend.
Sunday is expected to be a repeat of Saturday, but we will keep a close eye on the remnants of Francine. If this system tracks further north than we currently expect, then we would have a risk for showers late in the day.

Abundant sunshine and warm temperatures are expected through early next week.
At this point, it looks like warmer than normal temperatures will continue through the end of next week, the final week of summer, and possibly right into the official start of fall, which will begin with the fall equinox on Sunday, September 22nd at 8:43 am EDT. Enjoy!
