Montreal police arrested three young suspects after shots were fired last night in downtown Montreal.
According to police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant, a 911 call was placed around 11 p.m. on Tuesday about shots fired near the corner of Berri and Saint-Antoine streets.
Brabant said police received information about a small white truck seen leaving the scene.
The spokesperson said officers intercepted the truck shortly after. It was parked not far from where the shots had been heard. The truck then drove off before being pulled over near l’Hôtel-de-Ville Avenue and Boisbriand Street.
Two young men and a teenager who were inside the vehicle were taken into custody. Their ages are 20, 19 and 17.
According to Brabant, a gun was found inside the truck.
Officers also found bullet holes in a building on Saint-Louis Street and shell casings nearby. After the arrests, police set up two security perimeters: one around the area where the shots were fired and another where the white truck was pulled over.
The police spokesperson says the three young suspects are being interrogated.
