Just days away from the arrival of National Indigenous History Month, the 2024 Indigenous Fashion Arts Festival (IFA) has officially commenced at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre in the heart of the city. To kick things off on Wednesday’s opening night, a style-savvy bunch of artists and socialites walked the red carpet in a colourful display of Indigenous fashions.

Though the mall’s grounds were transformed into a runway where talented designers like Kayla Smith and Rhonda Johnson sent beautifully crafted looks down the catwalk on Wednesday evening—we were already impressed by the red carpet fashions long before the show began.

This year marks the fourth edition of the festival, where over 1,000 artists, designers and makers from all across the globe will gather for spectacular fashion shows, inspiring panels, informative workshops, and a must-shop marketplace from May 30 to June 2. Ahead, a glimpse at the guests who dressed to impress on the festival’s opening night.
