Hull FC have been taken over by former Leeds Rhinos president Andrew Thirkill and businessman David Hood, ending Adam Pearson’s 13-year stint at the helm of the Super League club.
Thirkill and Hood entered into an exclusivity period in November, with Pearson confirming in a statement on Wednesday the handover had been finalised.
Pearson will stay on at Hull in a consultancy capacity with Thirkill becoming chairman and Hood joining the board.
“I would like to sincerely thank our board members, off-field staff, corporate partners and our supporters for their incredible support of myself and this great club throughout my ownership across the past 13 years, and I wish the entire club and its personnel every success going forward,” Pearson said.
“I look forward to watching on as a supporter with my family over the years ahead.”
Thirkill served as president at Leeds from 2018 until October of this year and is the father of Stephanie Thirkill, whose partner is Hull FC’s director of rugby Richie Myler.
The Black and Whites endured a dismal season in Super League in 2024, winning just three of their 27 matches.
They get their 2024 campaign under way away at Catalans Dragons on 14 February.
