Must read

Canada was the most popular relocation destination among all the countries reviewed, according to a report by Jobseeker. The country is currently at loggerheads with India over the killing of Khalistan extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Despite the tensions, Canada remained particularly popular among job seekers and those looking to relocate from India in addition to other countries like Germany, Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Australia was the next most frequently searched-for country to relocate to, followed by Switzerland and the United States, which tied for third place.

Jobseeker analyzed the social trends of job seekers globally between September 19 to 25 to find this data. Using the template “jobs in [country name]”, it charted residents’ search trends across 30 countries. The tracked 30 countries were chosen for having a strong job market and high GDP, as per the U.S. News & World Report.

India at odds with Canada:

The relations between India and Canada came under severe strain following Trudeau government’s allegations in September last year of a “potential” involvement of Indian agents in Nijjar’s killing.

New Delhi rejected Trudeau’s charges as “absurd”.

India expelled six Canadian diplomats and withdrew its high commissioner Sanjay Verma and other “targeted” officials from Canada after strongly dismissing Ottawa’s charges.

India has been maintaining that the main issue between the two countries is that of Canada giving space to pro-Khalistan elements operating from Canadian soil with impunity.
