Thomas Tuchel ‘agrees’ to become new England boss

England’s search for their new manager appears to have been finalised as Thomas Tuchel is set to take over.

Initial reports on Tuesday claimed that the 51-year-old was the leading name to take over the Three Lions despite also being linked with Manchester United.

A further update from Times Sports has now reported the German manager has agreed to take over following a “rapid conclusion to negotiations.”

An official announcement is set to arrive later this week.

Tuchel formerly managed multiple club giants across Europe, including Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, and Bayern Munich. He left the German side at the end of last season and has since been out of work.

He led the English and French clubs to one Champions League final each, winning it all in 2022 with the Blues. Once officially appointed to the England national team, Tuchel will be the team’s first German-born boss.

Lee Carsley is currently in charge of the Three Lions following the departure of Gareth Southgate following EURO 2024.
