We asked for your thoughts after Spurs dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League table with Sunday’s dramatic 4-3 comeback defeat at home to rivals Chelsea.
Here are some of your comments:
Andy: That game was Ange’s Spurs in a nutshell- haphazard, riddled with missed opportunities and stupid mistakes. One minute we’re great, the next rubbish. Then you look at Chelsea – well coached and clinical; working together as a cohesive unit. Ange talks a great game, but where’s the coaching? Where’s the tactics? There’s a feeling we are just winging it every time we play any opposition.
Rose: Spurs were sloppy in passing and should have (once again) put the game to bed early doors. However, Ange must take some responsibility. Playing with such intensity for 40 minutes you could see the Spurs players were tired in the second half but there were no decent subs until 78 mins. He needs to find a way to get Maddison in the team.
Keith: Very frustrating and the only consistency we have is inconsistency. Poor and naïve decisions on and off the pitch with both tackles for the penalties reckless and unnecessary. Increasingly, Ange is looking out of his depth in the Premier League – as are some of the players. At this rate even a top six finish is unrealistic and Tamworth away is now looking like a tricky game too. So hard being a Tottenham fan.
Jim: Sick of it now. We could give Ange time but nothing will change. Stubborn, arrogant, disrespectful of the fans. One dimensional football with the occasional thrilling victory but enough is enough. There are plenty of talented coaches out there who could get a better tune out of that squad. I’m done with him.
JB: Having supported Spurs since 1978, just when you think you can’t feel any sadder or more humiliated and embarrassed, you get a season like this and a performance like that. No other quality side would rollover over like that when 2-0 up. I wish the players felt half the hurt and pain the real fans do.
Peter: Just injuries costing Spurs. No team could deal with what they are having to. When more players are fit, they’ll get back to their best.
