WINNIPEG — True North Sports + Entertainment is implementing new technology at Canada Life Centre to improve the security screening experience.
TNSE is using AI-based Evolv Express technology to bring contactless security screening to the bustling downtown venue. The advanced system, developed by Evolv Technology, allows visitors to enter the arena without needing to stop, empty their pockets, or open their bags, streamlining the process during peak times.
Already in use during Winnipeg Jets pre-season games and concerts, the system aims to improve convenience and reduce wait times for guests. Canada Life Centre is one of 10 NHL venues to adopt the contactless screening system.
“We know that guests’ experience at Canada Life Centre is about more than the great entertainment on the ice or on the stage, and we are continually working to make big and little changes that will improve their time in our venue,” said Kevin Donnelly, True North’s sr. vice-president of venues & entertainment.
“Our new Evolv Express technology has made venue entry more convenient and a lot quicker and is especially reducing lines during peak entry times for high-attendance events.”
Evolv Express uses AI and sensors to distinguish between potential threats and everyday items like cell phones and keys. The technology is employed at more than 800 venues worldwide and screens one million people daily.
