Halifax Regional Police have charged two adults in relation to the stabbing death of a teenager outside of a Halifax mall in April.

The 16-year-old victim, Ahmad Maher Al Marrach, was found wounded in a parking lot at the Halifax Shopping Centre on April 22 and died later in hospital.

Two 14-year-olds, a boy and a girl, were previously charged with second-degree murder in relation to the incident.

Police say two people were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly providing false information to investigators and assisting the accused in avoiding arrest in the homicide.

They say two adults, a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, are now facing one count each of accessory to commit an indictable offence.

The youths’ names are protected by a publication ban, and police say they are unable to provide further details.

Ahmad Al Marrach came with his family to Canada from Syria as refugees eight years ago. He was a student at Citadel High School.
