Where are the winners of The Traitors now?

Must read

The Traitors series three is almost upon us, with a new set of contestants headed for the castle for the ultimate game of deceit and trickery.

The tense show – which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman – has been a huge success since it started in 2022, becoming one of the jewels in the BBC’s schedule. And fans have been counting down ahead of its new run, where another crop of Traitors and Faithfuls will be competing for the big money prize.

So far there have been four winners on the UK version of the programme. Faithfuls Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams triumphed in season one and Traitor Harry Clark skulked his way to victory in the second series, which aired in January.

So where are the winners now?

Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams won The Traitors series one in 2022, after correctly identifying Wilf Webster as the final Traitor standing. Evans was an estate agent when he signed up for the game show but in the months after the trio won the £101,050 prize pot, it was reported that he was working on yachts.

He went on to appear on another TV show, First Dates, where he shared that he had initially given his part of the prize money to his mum but had asked for some back. “I got to the final and won like £33,000,” he said. “I ended up giving the money to my mum anyway. Well I gave her the £33,000, and then asked for three grand back because I was skint.” Evans also appeared on Celebrity Mastermind.

In January she told the Mirror that The Traitors “changed my life more than I think 30 grand could for a lot of other people”. “I had to quit my job before I went into the show, because they wouldn’t let me go and film, so I had to start doing full-time comedy,” she explained.

After winning The Traitors, Meryl Williams revealed that she was planning to use her prize money to make a career change.

The call centre agent told Metro.co.uk and other press: “So I’ve not spent it yet. I’d like to work in a different career path and I would really like to break into the television industry – I’d love to do presenting, something like that.”

Williams, who has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, also co-hosts the You & Me podcast.

Harry Clark pocketed £95,150 when he won The Traitors series two earlier this year but despite his success he still lives at home with his parents in Slough.

The star now has a podcast with fellow Traitors contestant Paul Gorton, called Harry And Paul’s Guide To Life. He has hosted numerous short films for The One Show and fronted a film in Normandy as part of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

The former British Army engineer has also made it clear he has his sights set on more reality TV, saying on ITV’s Lorraine that he fancied a stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! at some point. He has also appeared on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Saturday Mash Up, The Weakest Link and Comic Relief.

The Traitors will launch on 1 January at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer. For episodes one and two, The Traitors will air at 8pm. From episode three onwards it will air at 9pm. The show will air Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
