Big Brother is back for 2024, with 16 new housemates hoping to win viewers’ votes and the cash prize.

The ITV2 show’s launch night introduced this year’s cast for the first time as hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best welcomed contestants to the house, this year making a welcome move back to a live first show.

As we wait to find out who will form alliances, who will fall out and who will have the most iconic Diary Room moments, this is the 2024 cast as they’re announced.

Khaled is from Manchester, but moved to the UK with his family from Lebanon and said it was tough growing up as a refugee but that it made him close to his brothers.

It sounds like Khaled could be looking for love in the house, as he said: “I think modern dating has gone down the bin…I do like the idea of a traditional romance.”

Daze is a climate activist from London who admitted she would find it difficult if any of her new housemates didn’t care about climate change.

She usually lives on a boat and said: “The community on the canals is really quite magical…I like to be alone, so this is going to be a challenge.”

Scottish housemate Nathan has had some interesting jobs – he is currently a pork salesman and was previously a butler for the King.

Nathan loves to talk politics and said: “I’ll try not to upset anyone, but people are easily upset at times.”

Segun from Watford is a self-confessed mummy’s boy who loves music and is a committed Christian.

Asked whether he had faith he could win, he said: “I’ve got so much faith – let the games begin!”

He added: “I’m going to miss Mummy, hopefully I can find another mummy in there.”

An aesthetics practitioner from Manchester, Emma has promised: “I’m going to bring humour to the house and a little bit of sass.”

The mother-of-three added: “I’m going to don that mother cap, especially if there’s anyone in there that reminds me of one of my kids.”

Rosie was first into the house and works as a dental practice admin, admitting: “I can sometimes come across as weird and annoying.”

She added: “I love tea, I can sometimes drink 20 cups a day,” so it looks like she could be responsible for plenty of washing up in the house.
