Women’s Golf Signs Three – NC State University Athletics

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women’s golf and head coach Darby Sligh inked three players to National Letters of Intent on National Signing Day. Lindsay McGrath, Ellie Hildreth and Elizabeth Sullivan will run it with the Pack in the fall of 2025.

Lindsay McGrath – Oakville, Ontario, Canada

McGrath is an Ontario, Canada native and successful on the junior golf circuit with two American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Championships and nine AJGA career top 10 finishes. She was the 2024 AJGA Visit Goldsboro NC Junior Champion and tallied top five finishes at the 2024 Golf Canada NextGen Selection Camp (third) and 2024 AJGA Junior at Innisbrook (fifth). McGrath was a participant in the 2024 World Junior Girls Championship, representing Canada, and is a member of the Team Canada NextGen squad in 2022-24.

McGrath was the 2023 Golf Ontario U17 Girls Provincial Champion and placed third at the 2023 Canadian Junior Girls Championship. At the 2023 USGA Women’s Four-Ball, she made it to the round of 32 with back-to-back eagles and was a 2022 USGA U.S. Girls Junior participant.

McGrath on Choosing NC State: “NC State has had great success with Canadians, paving the way for players like me. They have amazing facilities at Lonnie Poole, opening opportunities to work hard and challenge your game. I believe Coach Sligh, Coach [Courtney] Gunter and Coach [Ulrika] Migliaccio will play a great role in achieving my goals in college and professional golf.”

Ellie Hildreth – Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

Hildreth is staying home in North Carolina after a well-accomplished high school and junior golfing career. Coming out of Hoggard High School, she is a four-time Mideastern Conference 4A Player of the Year, four-time Coastal Prep Golfer of the Year, four-time Star News Player of the Year, four-time HOST North Carolina All-State selection and four-time TYGA First Team All-State choice. She is also a two-time 4A East Regional Individual Champion.

Hildreth won the 2024 PKBGT Cape Fear Classic Championship and was the runner-up at the 2024 AJGA North Carolina Junior Championship.

Hildreth on choosing NC State: “I chose NC State because it checked all the boxes for what I was looking for as a student/athlete. [NC State has] great academics, Coach [Darby] Sligh as the head coach, good facilities, strong/competitive golf in the ACC, great location, great climate and far enough away from home but easy access to my hometown.”

Elizabeth Sullivan – Atlanta, Ga.

Sullivan is an accomplished high school and amateur golfer, going into NC State with four high school individual titles. At St. Pius X Catholic High School, she was the 2024 6A Player of the Year and 6A individual state champion with a course record of 65. Sullivan is a three-time All-State and All-Area recipient.

The Georgia native is the No. 7 ranked player in the Peach State in the Rolex AJGA Ranking, No. 125 in the class of 2025. Sullivan has three top 10 finishes in AJGA, two top six finishes on the Southeast Junior Tour, two top 10 showings on the Peggy Kirk Bell Tour and logged third at the Louis Suggs Junior Invitational.

Sullivan on choosing NC State: “Choosing NC State was a no brainer. Continuing my family legacy at NC State means the world to me. Playing college golf has always been my dream, and I’m beyond grateful to share these next four years with such a wonderful team, coaches and community.”

NC State will be back in action in the spring for the Collegiate Invitational from Jan. 31 to Feb.1 at Guadalajara Country Club.
