Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa women’s lacrosse team saw their winning streak snap as that dropped a home game to (9) Benedictine by a score of 12-18 on Monday afternoon.
The game began in Ottawa’s favor with 5-3 and 3-2 first and second periods giving the Braves an 8-5 halftime lead. However, Benedictine found their groove in the second half, with a 9-4 third period to give them the lead, and a 4-0 fourth period to extend it.
Mackenzie Simmons scored six goals for Ottawa. Ashley Santillan and Felecia Dixon scored two each. Santillan made four assists, and Shelby Bearden made eight saves.
Ottawa (2-6, 0-0 KCAC) continues their season on Saturday, March 23 as they travel to St. Louis for an away game at (7) Missouri Baptist University, the KCAC opener for Ottawa. That game will begin at 1 PM.
