Women’s Tennis Moves on to the KCAC Tournament Finals With 4-0 Victory over Sterling – Ottawa University

SALINA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women’s tennis team defeated Sterling College, 4-0, on Friday afternoon in the KCAC Tournament Semifinals. The win means the Braves will play McPherson College for the KCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday

Isidora Hrnjak and Lily Keimig won their no. 3 doubles match, 6-2, to give OU a 1-0 lead in the doubles point. Alejandra Parra and Paula Persson’s 7-6 victory in no. 1 doubles gave OU the point, 2-0. Valeria Rodriguez and Priyanshi Sharma fell 7-6 in their no. 2 doubles match.

Sharma won her no. 1 singles match to give OU a 2-0 lead. Persson’s victory in no. 3 singles increased the OU lead to 3-0. Ottawa clinched the match with Parra’s win in no. 4 singles.

The Braves (15-5) will play McPherson College, for the second straight season, in the KCAC Tournament finals. The two teams will play at Bethany College’s Dr. Emory Lindquist Tennis Center on Saturday, April 27. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
