Women’s Tennis Sails Past Southwestern, 7-0 – Ottawa University

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women’s tennis team defeated Southwestern College 7-0 on Monday afternoon in Forest Park.

Alejandra Parra and Paula Persson won their no. 1 doubles match and Ottawa led the doubles point, 1-0. Isidora Hrnjak and Lily Keimig defeated Alexis Kersten and Rose Elie 6-1 in no. 2 doubles, clinching the doubles point for OU, 2-0.

Keimig won her no. 5 singles match by default, giving OU a 2-0 lead. Hrnjak took a victory in no. 1 singles over Ochoa and the Braves led 3-0. Ottawa took the match with Valeria Rodriguez’s 6-3, 6-3 victory in no. 3 singles over Kersten, 4-0. Parra defeated Emily Feible 6-2, 6-4 in no. 2 singles. Person won her no. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-0 over Elie.

Ottawa (8-3, 4-0) is back in action on Thursday, March 28 against no. 15 William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. The match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
