LINDSBORG, Kan. – The Ottawa University women’s tennis team’s season ended with a 4-2 loss to (RV) McPherson College in the KCAC Tournament finals on Saturday morning. The event was held at the Dr. Emory Lindquist Tennis Center on the campus of Bethany College.
Valeria Rodriguez and Priyanshi Sharma fell in their no. 2 doubles match 6-0 and McPherson led 1-0 in the doubles point. McPherson took the doubles point with their win in no. 1 doubles. Alejandra Parra and Paula Persson fell 6-3.
Lily Keimig lost her no. 6 singles match 6-0, 6-0 and MC led 2-0. Ottawa cut into the Bulldog lead with Persson’s 6-4, 6-4 win in no. 3 singles, 2-1. Parra was defeated 7-5, 6-4 in no. 4 singles and McPherson had a 3-1 lead. The Braves were able to get within 3-2 of McPherson with Rodriguez’s 6-3, 6-3 win in no. 5 singles. The Bulldogs won the match with a win in no. 2 singles. Isidora Hrnjak fell 7-6, 6-4.
The Braves finish the season with an overall record of 15-6.
