📈 Havertz strike caps off staggering statistical dominance over Ipswich

A Kai Havertz goal has opened the scoring for Arsenal against Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town this evening, but the one-goal advantage hardly tells the story.

It’s never easy for newly promoted sides to flex their muscles at the Emirates, particularly when Arsenal are in the mood.

But for Ipswich Town this evening, they’ve hardly had a sniff against their hosts in the opening 25 minutes of the match.

Just before Kai Havertz tapped home the opener for the home side, Arsenal had amassed 91% possession, leaving Ipswich to chase shadows.

The German now has seven goals on the season, and those goals will be even bigger in the absence of Bukayo Saka.

Ipswich will surely be forced to open up now that they are behind, but surely single-digit possession stats is an unsustainable clip.
