Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace
Scorers: Wood 65′
Eberechi Eze fired an early warning shot with an effort that flew just past Matz Sels’ righthand post after Nicolás DomÃnguez was dispossessed deep in his own half.
The hosts responded through Elliot Anderson’s slaloming run into the penalty area before forcing a low stop from Dean Henderson at his near post.
Nuno EspÃrito Santo’s side spurned another chance shortly before the interval as Chris Wood failed to properly connect with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cross.
After the interval, Eze tested Henderson with a long-range effort which the Forest goalkeeper had to produce a sprawling save to keep out before skying a follow-up.
But Wood finally broke the Eagles’ defensive resolve midway through the second half with a half-volleyed strike from the edge of the box.
