Scorers: Maeda 16′, Kyogo 39′, McGregor 75′
Celtic moved five points clear of Glasgow rivals Rangers with a comfortable win over Philippe Clement’s side at Parkhead.
Rangers began the game the stronger as both Cyriel Dessers and Rabbi Matondo both wasted glorious opportunities to put Philippe Clement’s side ahead.
And they almost paid the ultimate price as Kyogo capped off a fast counter attack to hand the hosts the lead after just 11 minutes, only for VAR to rule it out for a tight offside.
But Celtic were not to be deterred and found the net again six minutes later as a cutback from Alistair Johnston found Daizen Maeda, who took advantage of an unfortunate slip to tab the ball home from six yards out.
The hosts continued to push on as Rangers resorted to last ditch defending to keep the scoreline at just 1-0, but five minutes before the break they were undone once more as Kyogo turned on the ball 25 yards out before rolling the ball into the corner past a poorly positioned Jack Butland.
Rangers improved after the interval, but could not find a way past a stubborn Celtic backline as Dessers once again saw an effort easily held by Kasper Schmeichel.
And they remained a threat at the other end, squandering big chances to extend their lead including an effort from Kyogo to double his tally. With 15 minutes left to play, they finally put the result beyond doubt courtesy of midfielder Callum McGregor, who fired in another long range effort to secure all three points for the Bhoys.
